Athlete Expectations

The Edmond North Track & Field Program operates in accordance with the policies outlined by OSSAA, the Edmond Public School District, and the Edmond North Student Handbook. In addition, ENTF holds our athletes to an even higher standard, as laid out in this handbook.

Be Dignified and Responsible. All athletes are expected to conduct themselves with class and dignity, both on and off the track. Practice good sportsmanship and be in compliance with rules and regulations. Your behavior is not only a reflection of your values, but also of your family, your school, and this Program. Be responsible for your actions, and hold yourself and your teammates accountable.

Be Respectful. We are a family; important to any family is mutual respect. You will respect all members of the ENTF community, including your teammates. In return, you will receive the respect that you deserve. Additionally, respect the authority of all teachers, administrators, and other authority figures.

Be Committed. Athletes should take seriously their place in the Program. When you join ENTF, you commit to making yourself better with every workout, and you commit to being there for your teammates. Commitment is about being prepared and present, giving every workout your full effort, and motivating your teammates to do the same. It’s also about making the right decisions in the classroom, in the halls, as well as off school grounds.

Any violation of one or more of the rules covered in this handbook is an indication that this Track & Field Program, and being part of it, is not important to you. Any violation will result in a meeting and action appropriate to the violation, including possible removal from the team. Conversely, those who follow these policies and work hard show that being part of this Program is important to you and will be rewarded.
