Cut Policy

A three to five-day try-out period will be held in November or early December. The first round of cuts based on athletic development and potential demonstrated at try-outs will be announced the following week. A second round of cuts may occur in January based on commitment and attitude demonstrated at practice. Those desiring to participate are expected to be present at all practices, approach workouts with a positive attitude, embrace the sweat and pain required to improve individual athletic ability, and be willing to respond to coaching. All athletes must also complete required paperwork, including the athlete/parent contract. If these standards are not met by the set date, then the athlete in question will be asked to withdraw from the 7th hour class and the team.

Athletes in a winter sport, such as basketball or wrestling, or any that may be injured do not have to attend the try-out in November/December. They will be given three days after their season ends or once they are healthy to earn a spot on the team.

Athletes that are cut are welcome to try out to join the Program the following season.
