Expectations for Coaching Staff

All Edmond North Track & Field coaches will uphold the following expectations:

Be a positive role model. Hold yourself to high standards of professionalism. Be respectful in your interactions. Follow a personal code of conduct that reflects how you would want your own child to act.

Be an expert. Stay abreast of research and rule developments specific to the sport of Track & Field. Coach our athletes armed with confidence and the most current knowledge available for your events. All coaches should work toward USATF certifications.

Coach every athlete. Care about each individual athlete, and be invested in their development and success. You are responsible for helping them believe in the Program and their ability to maximize their individual athletic potential.

Communicate. It is important that all parts of the Program are on the same page. Coaches will work together in developing workouts and planning as the season progresses toward the State Championship. Coaches will make themselves available to athletes for questions and guidance. Coaches will also communicate essential information with parents and be open to parent inquiries when appropriate.

Commit. We ask our athletes to invest a great deal of time into our Program and therefore commitment is needed from each coach. In turn, the program will place a priority on using time wisely during meetings, practices, and team activities.
